Lake County General Health District’s clinical and nursing programs take a community-centered approach to provide care and support to Lake County residents. We serve our clients by utilizing the following guiding principles:
- Provide competent nursing services to promote continuity of care and reduce health disparities
- No resident will be denied health services based on insurance status or ability to pay
- Provide culturally-competent care by respecting and supporting our clients’ individual needs
- Conduct ongoing assessments to improve the overall quality of services, while identifying and anticipating resident needs

Immunizations
Routine Immunizations
The Lake County General Health District conducts Immunization clinics in the community. LCGHD strives to ensure all residents have access to all required and recommended immunizations for children, adolescents, and adults. All clinics are by appointment only. Currently, immunization clinics are for those who are not insured, underinsured, or covered by Medicaid. Please see the flyer below for upcoming clinics. More clinic dates will be scheduled soon. If you have questions regarding what vaccines your child or adolescent may need, please call (440) 350-2543 and ask to speak with our nursing department.
For Child and Adolescent clinics, a parent or legal guardian must accompany all minors.

COVID-19 Vaccinations
LCGHD also offers COVID-19 vaccinations upon request to underinsured and uninsured individuals by way of the Ohio Department of Health Get Vaccinated Ohio Grant. If you would like a COVID vaccine and have insurance, we encourage you to contact your primary care physician and/or your local pharmacy for the updated COVID vaccine.

Tuberculosis (TB) Testing
Tuberculosis Control Program
Lake County General Health District’s Communicable Disease Nurse is responsible for the monitoring and investigation of all suspected and confirmed tuberculosis (TB) cases in Lake County. This includes prevention efforts, such as medication therapy for positive reactors and TB testing and education. The Health District currently accepts cash or check, which is due at the time of TB testing. Please see the fee schedule below for pricing.
TB Clinics
TB Testing is on hold.
Please note, for all clinics, testing is conducted on the Mondays listed below, and the client must return to have results read on the Wednesdays listed below of the same week. We are unable to accommodate walk-in TB testing.
FOR THE TEST TO BE VALID— Patients must return for a follow-up visit within 48 hours of the first visit to complete the TB test.
When should a TB test be done?
People who need a TB test from work, or who are at a higher risk of infection can easily be tested at Lake County General Health District.
What happens during a TB skin test?
The tuberculosis testing process has 2 parts:
- The tuberculin skin test (TST)
- The TST result assessment.
Patients must return for a follow-up visit within 48 to 72 hours of the first visit to complete the TB test.
