Project OPIATE (Opiate Prevention Initiative Action Through Education) is a program that trains a cohort of high school students in prevention, strategic planning, and action implementation to provide opioid education to 7th grade students and parents. The goal of this program is to change perceptions of youth regarding opioid safety, appropriate use, and misuse through a youth-led peer network in schools. Conducted in partnership with The Ohio State University Extension Office, the program is currently active within:

  • Lake Catholic High School
  • Mentor Public Schools
  • Painesville City Local Schools
