INTERNSHIPS

The Lake County General Health District accommodates unpaid internships in a variety of program areas.  These include: Health Education/Promotion, Public Health Emergency Planning, Nursing/Epidemiology, Environmental Health and Administration.  Projects and commitment are determined on an individual basis and include grant writing, community engagement, community education, data analysis, program development, survey/research and marketing. 

Internship Status

We are no longer accepting applications for the summer internship program, however, you can complete the internship application and e-mail it to Kathy Milo, M.Ed., Director of Health Promotion and Planning, if interested in a fall internship.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Lake County Medical Reserve Corps (MRC)

Who is eligible to join the MRC?

We are looking for licensed medical professionals who can provide basic support services during emergencies, events, exercises and drills.  This includes, but is not limited to, licensed medical professionals, non-licensed volunteers with medical backgrounds, mental health professionals, public health professionals and emergency medical personnel.  Anyone can help!

Veterinary Response Team (VRT)

Who is eligible to join the VRT?

We are looking for licensed veterinary professionals who can provide basic support services during emergencies, events, exercises and drills for animals.  This includes, but is not limited to, licensed veterinary professionals, non-licensed volunteers who volunteer with animals, public health professionals and emergency medical personnel.
