Geese

 Canada Goose

The Canada goose continues to be a nuisance to many Lake County residents, particularly those with access to waterways or on their properties. These geese are primarily grazing animals and feed on seeds, grasses, and other young, tender plants, even crops in their early stages. If left to graze in an area, they can quickly foul an area around a waterway or pond and surrounding yards, as well as damaging landscaping, gardens, and other vegetation. Although, these native waterfowl are protected by  the Federal Migratory Bird Treaty Act and Ohio state law, a number of techniques can be found at the following links to discourage or eliminate their presence.
