A commercial vending machine location contains vending machines, which are defined in chapter 3717.01 (L) of the Ohio Revised Code as “a self service device that automatically dispenses on the insertion of currency, tokens, or similar means a predetermined unit serving of food, either in bulk or in package, without having to be replenished after use”. Sanitarians from the Lake County General Health District are required to inspect commercial vending machine locations once annually or in response to consumer complaints. Vending machine locations and equipment must meet all industry standards, comply with state regulations, and be approved by the licensor.
