Physician Office Immunization Education

AFIX is a quality improvement strategy to raise immunization coverage levels and improve standards of practices at the provider level. The acronym for this four-part dynamic strategy stands for

Assessment of the healthcare provider’s vaccination coverage levels and immunization practices,

Feedback of results to the provider along with recommended strategies to improve coverage levels,

Incentives to recognize and reward improved performance, and

eXchange of healthcare information and resources necessary to facilitate improvement.

The AFIX approach presents an excellent educational opportunity, encourages private and public partnerships, and increases awareness among immunization providers.

Maximizing Office Based Immunization (MOBI) Program is a free statewide provider immunization education and training program developed for healthcare providers.  This continuing education program, which trains practices in techniques to improve immunzation rates in their practice, is offered throgh the Ohio chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics, and funded by the Ohio Department of Health with technical assistance from the National Immunization Program, Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

MOBI is a one hour in-office continuing education quality improvement program provided by trained vaccine experts.  target offices include pediatric and family medicine practices throughout Lake County.  MOBI aims to raise immunization rates among Ohio’s children by teaching physicians and their entire staff evidence-based strategies to overcome barriers to immunizations.
