Housing
Community Health begins in the home and a sanitary environment is important to both you and your neighbors. The Lake County General Health District is responsible for investigating and abating dwelling related public health nuisances. Many of the issues that we investigate involve multi-family and rental properties, but we can also provide consultation on many common household concerns of owner-occupied dwellings. Some of the common questions that our sanitarians address include indoor mold, odors, solid waste, structural deficiencies, hoarding, sanitation, and basic living requirements (i.e. water, electricity, heat). If you have questions about dwelling related nuisances or wish to make a complaint about a public nuisance please consult our posted links or contact the Health District at (440) 350-2543 M-F 8:00-4:30. Please be advised, if you would like to make a complaint of the inside of a dwelling that you do not live in you will need to complete the complaint form, sign, date and return to the Health District for inspection.
