BIKE NIGHT 2011 WITH THE LAKE COUNTY CAPTAINS
The Lake County Captains, the Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Lake County Safe Communities Coalition are partnering to promote Bike Night 2011 on Saturday, July 9th at 7:00 p.m. at Classic Park in Eastlake, Ohio. All motorcyclists are invited to ride to the game and enjoy a pre-game rally starting at 6:00 p.m. The first 150 bikes who register will also participate in an on-field parade and enjoy premium free parking for the game. Riders will receive free kickstand plates and have a chance to win a free registration for the Motorcycle Ohio Basic Rider Course. Additionally, participants will have an opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for a chance to throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the game. The evening wraps up with post-game fireworks for all to enjoy.
In addition to providing a fun evening for motorcycle enthusiasts, this event is also an opportunity to promote safety among motorcyclists and operators of other motor vehicles alike. Motorcyclists are encouraged to “Ride SMART”, which includes being Sober, being Motorcycle-endorsed, riding Alert, wearing the Right gear and being Trained. Drivers of other motor vehicles are reminded to be alert to motorcyclists on the road and to never follow a motorcyclist too closely. Lieutenant James Sivak of the Ohio State Highway Patrol urges motorists to, “Respect the motorcyclist, as they have the same privileges as any other vehicle traveling the roadway. Look out for motorcycles and attempt to anticipate their next maneuver while allowing plenty of space between your vehicle and theirs.”
Tickets for Bike Night 2011 are still available for only $9 each in advance and $10 the day of the game. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Lake County Captains at 440-954-WINS (9467) or by visiting the Classic Park box office.
